A Room, A Sacred Vow & The Monsoon Dawn
Purvae was conceived in Lucknow—a city that has spent centuries mastering what memory smells like. Our private contemplation began on a cool November morning with a simple refusal: “Why must commercial perfume hit with stinging alcohol, only to vanish into thin air by lunchtime?”
We vowed never to dilute nature's extrait with ethanol. We named our vision Pūrvi (the gentle dawn breeze) and Pūrva (the first light), synthesized into PÜRVAÉ with classical French perfumery cadence.
06 August 2025 marks our sovereign birthday—the day our first hand-blended extraits were officially sealed into vanity flacons and introduced to the world. Chosen at the peak of the monsoon when atmospheric moisture is dense, 06 August remains the defining foundation of everything we craft.
Starting with What Burns: The Sanctum
Before creating personal perfumes, we mastered the ancient sanctum. We began with natural charcoal-free cones, bambooless dhoop sticks pressed with temple woods, and pure Chandan face powder sealed in vanity glass.
Honest formulas, crafted without toxic black soot or cheap fillers. They quickly found their way into daily morning prayer and evening meditation spaces across India. But letters from our patrons soon began asking a new question...
“Do You Make Something I Can Wear?”
Patrons did not just want to fragrance their rooms—they wanted something personal to carry on their wrists, collarbones, and pulse points through the day. They wanted an aroma that fused intimately with their own skin warmth instead of evaporating into the room.
That single customer request transformed Purvae into an independent modern parfum oil house. We took the purity of our extraits and engineered them to bond with natural skin lipids.
The 16-Hour Extrait Breakthrough
Industry veterans warned us that consumers only buy sprays. We proved that when an oil delivers 16+ continuous hours of mindful sillage without stinging, headaches, or alcohol vapors, it becomes indispensable.
The Unspoken emerged as our iconic flagship, followed by Pureza and Earth Rhapsody. Next came the Discovery Edits—giving patrons a risk-free way to explore four distinct olfactory profiles before committing to a full flacon.
